Panteia forecasts a 2.9% to 4.6% cost increase for domestic road transport in 2027, excluding fuel and the truck toll. For international transport, the expected increase is between 2.9% and 3.3%. The calculations were commissioned by TLN and evofenedex.

This follows an expensive 2026. Including fuel but excluding the truck toll, domestic transport costs provisionally rose by 6.2% to 11.5%. Wages for drivers increased by an average of 6.1%; Panteia expects a further 4.9% increase in 2027.

The truck toll will count for a full year for the first time in 2027. For a Euro VI tractor-trailer in emission class 1, Panteia gives an example of €16,480 per year at 100,000 kilometres, of which 80% is driven on toll roads. Administration, processing and pre-financing may add further costs.

One general surcharge is not suitable for every carrier or route. The effect depends on vehicle class, kilometres subject to tolls, fuel agreements and empty mileage. Contract discussions therefore require a breakdown by cost component.
