PostNL has opened a parcel locker with around 160 compartments at Carrefour Antwerp South. It is the company’s first locker in Antwerp and the largest PostNL has installed in Belgium so far.
Customers can collect and send parcels there. The location combines homes, workplaces and everyday shopping, allowing people to visit without making a separate trip. This fits the broader shift towards out-of-home delivery.
According to PostNL, around 80% of Belgian recipients still prefer home delivery. The company is expanding alternatives for the other 20% and for occasions when nobody is at home. More lockers will follow in and around Antwerp and in cities including Leuven, Ostend and Hasselt during 2026.
For Dutch webshops selling in Belgium, the quality of the checkout becomes more important. A parcel locker only adds convenience when its location, delivery time and collection period are clear and the choice is passed correctly to the carrier and fulfilment process.
